If you’re interested in sharing a game you’ve recently discovered and you find worth playing, all you have to do is have a Steam account. Steam is not just a platform where you can get the best offers in games, but it has many other features to make your game account social. It’s not just like the many anti-social platforms you can buy and download the game. Connect with Steam and access dozens of features to play the game online with friends and family, spend a game on a friend, and access the VıP lounges. Here we will explain how to share games on Steam.

Game sharing with the Steam Family Library

One of the recent developments on Steam allows the user to share their games with family members and friends who can play their favorite game on their devices and share the results under their accounts in the leaderboard. Steam Cloud allows multiple players to play at the same time under the account name, access a single library, and record their progress. This allows you to purchase the game once after a single purchase, which all users can play. However, Steam allows only 5 users and 10 devices for which games can be shared.

To do this, you need to enable family library sharing. First, Steam Guard security must be active. If not, go to Steam settings and select Account, the first tab in the menu. Under user credentials, click to open Manage Steam Guard account security. Once enabled, you can share games with friends and family.

Those who want to play the games you share must log in to their devices with your Steam credentials. After logging in, they have to open their Steam settings from their devices. Then they must select the family or family Library Sharing tab from the navigation panel on the left. Click Authorize this PC, the option to approve the sharing of games you allow. Sign out and allow these people to log in with their accounts to check for shared games. They can download all the games in your account and upload them to their devices.

In this way, you can allow 5 members to play the games you own. However, you can share games with 10 devices. Thanks to Valve Partnership, Steam has also brought the concept of sharing games. Unlike this platform, there is no other source that allows free sharing of purchased games.

This method is very useful for families rather than friends. Any person who lives in a remote area that you cannot travel so often and easily will not be able to experiment with the game you are playing because it requires your physical presence to allow the other user to play shared games. The exact purpose is that Steam wants family members to share games so that they can create their personal records without disturbing other players in the family.

While some games require subscriptions, most games can be shared. Such games are only available for purchase and cannot be shared. Also, shared games require online play, because without it, the system cannot access the Steam Cloud to get the game’s progress.
